Education Space

The Programme Board for Educations Spaces (PBES) is encouraging departments to list teaching spaces on Booker and to ensure that avaiable spaces are open and visible to all.

The University's room booking and management system Booker, makes it easier for everyone to discover and access rooms, and also helps departments to manage their rooms more easily and efficiently, while retaining control over this space. All bookings are maintained and authorised by designated room managers and departments can limit the times at which a room is bookable to protect space when it is needed for departmental use.

Bhaskar Vira, Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Education said: “The pressure on shared teaching space across the University continues to grow. One way that we can all work together to alleviate this is to make sure that available teaching space is open and visible to those who want to access it.

“Many departments are already using Booker to manage their own rooms and I would encourage those who are not using it yet to sign up.”

Booker is available for any University department to adopt, free of charge, and with full training and support from the service team based at UIS (University Information Services).

Departments looking to join Booker should complete the ‘Room Booking System - Department Access' form via the UIS ticketing system. To request an account, please contact your local reception or IT team or email roombookingsystem@uis.cam.ac.uk.
